Charity

From SmartLogic Solutions

Every year we ask our employees to select a few charities to which we should donate money. The company contributes some money, and will match our employees' personal donations up to a certain limit.

Please contact us if you know of a worthy cause to which SLS should donate some money/resources. Please consider donating to these worthy causes too. Visit their websites for more information.

Below is a list of charities to which we have given donations.

[edit] The Christopher B. Elser Memorial Fund

In April 2004, Christopher B. Elser, a college junior, was attacked by an intruder in his fraternity house at the Johns Hopkins University. Chris later passed away in the cardiac unit of the Maryland Heart Center from the wounds he sustained. This horrific and tragic event robbed Chris's family and friends of one of the most magnetic, outgoing, kind and joyful presences in their lives. Chris was an athlete, a leader, a brother, son and friend to all. In order to preserve the memory of his spirit, several of his friends with the support of the Elser family have founded the Christopher B. Elser Memorial Fund.

The fund will support programs that offer youth constructive outlets within their community.

[edit] United Negro College Fund

At a time when a college degree is what a high school diploma was to previous generations, the minimum entry-level requirement for almost every well-paying career, UNCF plays a critical role in enabling more than 65,000 students each year to attend college and get the education they want and deserve. UNCF helps to close the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population.

[edit] Earthjustice

Earthjustice is a non-profit public interest law firm dedicated to protecting the magnificent places, natural resources, and wildlife of this earth and to defending the right of all people to a healthy environment. We bring about far-reaching change by enforcing and strengthening environmental laws on behalf of hundreds of organizations and communities.

[edit] One Less Car

One Less Car - a Maryland-based non-profit - wants to improve the quality of life for all Marylanders. Their objective is to help reclaim our basic right to freedom of mobility. They are committed to reversing the harm done to our collective happiness, the unraveling of our communities, and the increased risks we face daily due to our society's focus on the automobile at the exclusion of other transportation modes.
