Yair Flicker, Principal
John and I met in 2001 - we were both CS majors at Johns Hopkins and both played on the club rugby team. Four years later we started SmartLogic. When it comes to user interfaces, I like it clean, simplistic and functional. When it comes to applications, I like software that is user-friendly while serving the needs of the organization that is paying for the software. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. My father, נולד בישראל, is a mathematician. My mother, geni Cymru, teaches ESL. I have an older brother (lawyer in NYC), younger brother (undergrad at UChicago) and younger sister (in high school). I like to travel and see new places.
John Trupiano, Principal
As the third child in a family of entrepreneurs, it was natural for me to jump straight into business while still at Johns Hopkins with Yair. As we built our company I took responsibility for training the majority of our technical staff. Though I'm rarely involved in project implementation these days, I maintain a strong passion for the technologies we employ. I regularly attend and present at Bmore on Rails, am highly involved with the language study group Bmore Hackers, and contribute regularly to the open source community. A self-acknowledged workaholic, I endlessly seek out the thrill of learning. I'm an avid reader, a beer enthusiast, and a fervent sports fan.
Nick Gauthier, Developer
I started with SLS in January of '08, just a few weeks after getting my BS/MS from Johns Hopkins University. In addition to computers and video games I also enjoy snowboarding and riding my motorcycle. On the side, I teach Tae Kwon Do at Hopkins.
Adam Bachman, Developer
Important things about Adam:
- Lived on all four coasts (sequentially).
- Father of three (children).
- Rides a bike to work (w/ helmet).
- Co-founder of Baltimore Node (hackerspace).
- Enjoys hard sci-fi, cheap beer, and well made coffee (sequentially).
Glenn Gentzke, Developer
I spend my life carefully balancing "work" in several facets: a software developer for SmartLogic, drummer in various Baltimore outfits, founder and foreman of a DIY work/show space, and volunteer for non-profit organization Skatepark of Baltimore. When time permits, I ride motorcycles, skateboard, seek out new microbrews, and explore my passion for music. I also occasionally practice sleeping.
Justin Brown, Developer
Justin joined SmartLogic Solutions in May 2008. He is a member of the Flash/Flex/AIR development team. Follow Justin on Twitter to learn more about him.
Michael Berkowitz, Developer
Web developer by day, award winning singer/songwriter by night, hacker and composer by very late night, Michael Berkowitz is a self-taught programmer with experience in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Ruby, Rails, Cocoa, the iPhone SDK, and LilyPond. He can also solve a Rubik's Cube in about 1'.
